Forked Firefox, set it up on my Mac and begun changing some branding! Also removed colabs they have with other companies that annoy the end user. Don't have a SS right now so, here's the Firefox logo (lol) :3
You can now register at events using an invite code provided by organizers! In addition, you can also set minimum and maximum age in DB.
Markdown content is finally rendered! Voting now works, and teams and members are no longer broken. So yeah. Also faster than SoM's (and probably podium's) voting lol.
Implementing voting!! :DDD (yes teams and members are broken ok? don't kill me lol)
v2??? :> I've started working on bans (if you go anywhere on the site and are banned, you should be instantly redirected to the Banned page) and allowing changing event name, logos, etc through the environment variables. I'll also start working on voting and invite code signing up soon!
Finished trips, prepared for shipping and removed some testing data (and an upcoming search bar which I found unnecessary)! I think the first beta of Wayline is finally ready to be released :D also moved the server instance outside of my PC to my actual server for beta prod, and fixed some bugs that made it not build in production. Demo video doesn't show location tracking taking your current view to your current location for obvious reasons (lol), I don't wanna dox myself XD. Aand built the app ofc.
I've fixed some issues with SVGs, now you just have to move out and back in for them to render, which will be focused in a version after beta release here (if you want v2 to come out, please support the project!). I also added a (really cool) departures system and now it finally works in the native version!!! :D
Just decided to turn this into a SoM submission :D quite sad I didn't set up hackatime before for this one. Uhh I can't really write allll the progress and description here because I used markdown and this box doesn't have that? but https://hackclub.slack.com/docs/T0266FRGM/F09CCCZH0MR this is a doc that explains a bit. All upcoming devlogs will be both here and at the #tail-and-ears Slack channel! In the meantime, here is the design of the vertebrae (lol)
Making motorised, articulated tail and ears that react with the environment :D
Finally got it to (almost) work with Google Play! I had to pay 25 bucks for the developer license (hopefully I'll get it reimbursed w/ Converge) and create a bunch of internal test versions, but it's almost done! At the moment I gotta fix an issue in which SVGs don't really want to show up, but Expo takes a huuuuge amount of time to build anything (gotta wait for a 2h queue), so it's taking me more than I would've liked.
I finally convinced myself that the app needed to be native to be able to actually run so (against my better judgement) I spent 3h and a half redesigning it almost from scratch, throwing rocks and insults at my Mac and doing dark magic until it finally decided to at the very least show the stops close to where I'm looking at properly. I also changed a bit of the style of the bottom bar, inspiring myself from a dribble screenshot and (literally) a dream I had.
First part of the app is done! After way too much work, I'm able to fetch and store the stops for bus, tram and other trains in my city (as well as their lines), show a 3D map of the world with their placing in real time and also show a list of the closest stops to where you're looking at in the map. I still have to do some fixes for closing the stops drawer, though, before going on to the next stuff :D
The everything travel app! It has maps, public transportation info (stops, routes, trips...), location positioning, and the ability to start trips! I created this app to be able to compete with paid ones such as Transit, TripGo, Google Maps and Citymapper, as I thought I could make my own and have it work much better. If you want to check out how it works and all that, check the README! NOTE: Only the city of Valencia, ES is supported at the moment, as all the members of our testing team (3 people lol) live there. So, to try out the app, please move the view to somewhere in that city! In order to see stops, zoom into the Valencia map more than the default zoom amount :D
Firefox fork with AI agentic integration (not just a branded chatbot that reads websites)!
I removed all possible PII and implemented safeguards! (I didn't have any other picture as it's backend so here's the projects page again :D)
I may or may not have coded my own, fully custom, version of SoM for hackathons :3 No voting though (yet :D)! Just hour tracking and devlogs.
Implemented teams! Now you can create teams, manage/leave your team, send join requests... Only part of the join requests functionality pending
Items now show or hide in the homepage following settings! This way you won't see events if that tab is disabled, for example. Also added the ability to show time until beginning of the event instead of until end
Uhhh some hours magically vanished? Huh... here's another logo I guess (the devlog for demo login happened twice)
I added an option to use a demo invite code for you people that want to see the demo on SoM :D
Added an option to enable/disable certain pages! This will be useful to divide the different event stages
The panel is now available online!!! I also spent waaaaaay too much time fixing eslint errors :3
Profile view! Shows some info about you as well as QR code for when you first arrive to the venue (that way staff can check who you are and if you're allowed to enter!). After the first entrance, that QR will be shown on the user's IRL badge.
Finished implementing the store :D and you can now add events to GCalendar!!!
Removed all demo data and properly integrated with Notion DB! Also implemented part of the store :D
I didn't want to have to use one of those mid event platforms that are either too expensive or lack features, so... Midnight Cabin will probably use its own! I've finished slack login successfully :D for the UI, I'm using lu.ma as inspiration!
Finished everything bot-related! Also made the repo public, and implemented some more Discord stuff.
Added an admin bot for Discord! Now I can run those commands there as well.
Team members can now also access the list projects they have to review (Slack Bot)
Added security measures to not leak any PII, added admin commands (bans, approvals...)...
I added a bunch of new commands to the Slack bot, and did an actually working DB integration (@ Notion)!
Made a Slack bot! Now users can view their experience points, the team they're a member of, the projects they made...
Finished the logo (w/ different color schemes)! I've started working on banners for branding too.
Finished all the Pamphlet stuff! I won't spoil much (removed all spoilers :D) though. Figma was... very hard to master.
I'll try the leeks to not be big, but, I've created a simple, coming soon site for now, setup Intercom (took ages), created an AI integration from Intercom to Notion to use as support knowledgebase, and currently creating a Pamphlet!
Event panel, bot and branding! This is a fully custom solution panel for any hackathon to use with some tiny changes, and removes the need for any third party sites! Use code MIDNCBNDEMO as invite code to log in as demo user
unfortunately had to add mobile mode (had to turn nav into a component)
Finished everything! Also added README and fixed vercel domains and other building errors.
I fixed linting, wrote a blog post and all network pages... Vercel did NOT want to build for some reason. I was able to fix it though! So now, demo is ready!
I've finished the first iteration of the site! :DD this is the first time I write a personal page for myself, so I'm very excited! I added tons of secret easter eggs, the ??? page that can give people an existential crisis...
My personal about page! It has my projects, blog posts, about page, secret easter eggs... As well as contact info!
Uh... I think I might be working too hard on readitt... But hey, it's for research! I've built the whole reading UI, chapter + story creation and editing platform, Slack login for any hack clubber that wants to check it out, browse and library pages, summaries of previous chapters...
Read about anything you want with the help of AI to help with research about its effect. IMPORTANT: I am NOT saying that AI is able to replace authors or creativity in any way with this project. This is part of my multiple research experiments that are investigating the damage and effects AI-powered solutions (LLMs and apps like these) can have on the human brain and behavior.
This was widely regarded as a great move by everyone.
