Last devlog!
I added a simple speed test to the site using the speedtest python lib.
This project has been super rewarding to me, I may not have got to log all my time and changes but I learned a lot, it may look simple and it is, but I learned how to use PyWebIO, speedtest, tinydb, bcrypt, requests and more; as well as just got better at python, I feel way more confident in my skills in python and programming in general.

I made the demo page, its a demo version with limited features, the AI does not work at its endpoint is not Whitelisted by Python Anywhere the hosting service.
I added a AI quotes feature, and a stats page is in works!
I added the SoM countown again and finished up some logic for the foundation
I finally am good at the lib and so I am starting from a cleen slate, set up log in and sign up tabs
I did some work but hakatime did not track correctly...
I made the base for the project with some user Authentication as well as a Theme picker and SoM count down.

PyEvolve is a Python-based simulation that models the evolution of a population of creatures, each with traits like speed, strength, vision, and stamina. I started the project, I have layed down the ground work and it should be a pretty quick one I have found, if anyone has any suggestions on things to add let me know.

I am back and ready to get working! I should be done soon next week! I am working on making a exe and dmg/.app realease soon. (If I can get workflows to work :( )
I am just posting this Devlog to keep progress, big update will come soon but I will be away for the next few days. Expect a finished version of the game next week.

With the core mechanics of the game in place, my next focus will be on populating the world with more content. I'll be filling out the river.json
, lake.json
, shallow_ocean.json
, and deep_ocean.json
files with unique fish for each location. Get ready for a whole new world of fishing!
I think the game is playable just needs some tinkering and polish and it should be good. I plan on adding a galary to track collected fish as well as colored texts. I added realeses to the repo but I am on Mac so i can't test the EXE and the .app had errors at launch. If anyone knows how to fix any of these problems please let me know!
I've been working on making the game more accessible for new players. To that end, I've added a comprehensive tutorial that walks players through the basic mechanics of the game. This should make it easier for newcomers to get started and understand the core gameplay loop. I'm hoping this will improve the overall player experience and encourage more people to stick with the game. I've also been squashing some bugs and tweaking the balancing of the fish rarities.
I spend more time updating the fish Json, and README, and adding the shop function.
Started work on the GUI version in Godot, hopfully will work smoothly:)
I filled in many fish the game is coming together, I plan to finish the first fifty fish before finishing the core terminal game by adding the shop and other options. Let me know in the comments if you want a fish added as I am open to adding lots more.
