I have finished adding the dialogue!!!!! Now I only have to draw the rest of the sprites and backgrounds and add them in at the right points in the story.
I Have Finished Adding The Cat Loop. I Highly Regret Making A Character Who Talks Like This, because it gave me the worst headache ever.
Added MORE DIALOGUE! also replaced a spelling error that i made a lot (cafee instead of cafe) , already had searched for and found 5 instances of it happening before remembering search and replace exists. Also you can now eat explosive flowers (It doesnt affect the story and nothing really happens to you, I just thought some people would like that feature to be in the game.)
I added the calendar riddle. Now I have to draw sprites for that, but at least the input works. I also figured out how to setup a funny pun i came up with that works with the german language for people that dont speak german: I added a Learn german for kids booklet as an easteregg-ish thing that comes up when you buy a hot chocolate and take the time to sit on the couch and look through magazines.
I have added the second ending that establishes the narrator as entity with free will, I also made text appear gradually to make the games dialogue feel better to read. And I added the portals. It now depends on how nice you were to slow if you get an option to gamble for a good portal or just get the bad portal no matter what.
Added the maincharacter (finally) and made backgrounds actually change!!
I added every single one of slows sprites and had to figure out resizing stuff in renpy. which in the end wasnt as complicated as anticipated. Next i will tackle actually changing backgrounds too.
I coded in backgrounds and used a placeholder to determine the main characters position in dialogues etc
More dialogue!! Slow finally shows up! (A character in the story.) I also made the narrator even more fed up with the player character, they now make passive agressive comments whenever you make a stupid or mean decision.
Coded in dialogue and narration and got mentally beat up by renpy for using one semicolon on accident. Expected end of line oh really? me too! /j
A visual novel made for storyboard that heavily misunderstands common fanfiction tropes.
try working on responsive design
I changed the right oc picture on snowys page again, because for some reason it was to big this time? It should be fine now, hopefully. I think I'll be able to have it go online on github pages today, if everyone is fine with the way their page looks. Obviously we will have to add more pictures of the project were working on later, but right now there just arent that many, so I think its best to just put it online as is.
I fixed the alignment issues of potabos page by adding padding somehow, which I originally did to make it seem more planned through if that makes sense? But it fixed the issues too, so thats cool. I also tried to make it look as terrible as possible with various fun fonts. Also added a little disclaimer, because as said, it would be mean to make something like this page without asking if its ok.
I changed small things like spelling etc as well as issues with the mobile view over the course of multiple days.
Since potabo missed the deadline for the rest of his pages design, snowy and I designed the rest of his page ourself. He approved of it going online like this, and I am currently seriously considering it.
Our amazing text did cause alignment issues tho, which I tried to fix, but couldnt smh, no idea what went wrong.
Made it look nice with css, i tried to make it work on mobile by using max-width instead of width for some boxes but its still kinda bad. I also organized the code better and added notes to explain different elements of the website and how to change them. I sadly couldnt add notes in the style section somehow, looking back on it you probably do that differently in css in comparison to html, but oh well, now its already on github.
added placeholder image , made it round with the border radius and added these programming-language-badges. idk if someone who doesnt use html knows any other languages, but just in case. And I wrote suggestions with what you can replace those, so i guess its fine. I also started styling things and added example links. The colors wont stay the same, this much contrast just helps me adjust height and width of stuff thatll be invisible later. (like the container)
I set up the first few divs and wrote a lot of explaining comments already. My goal with this is that people dont just mindlessly replace text in the template, but actually understand what theire doing and are able to customize it as much as possible.
A template for a personal website with notes in the code that (try to) explain it and make it as easy to customize as possible for people who dont know much html or css. css and html are in the same file, because I personally think its easier than constantly hopping between files, especially since theres only one page that needs to be styled.
changed my own page to include a picture of my persona. I also changed the way i styled the textboxes, because before today I used margin:left, stacking them on top of each other, but that way you cant put things next to each other (or rather, I cant, I think it might be possible), and I changed it to float, making it so that if given enough space the divs automatically are next to each other. I dont know why i didnt do that in the first place, because that is how I made literally EVERY other page on this website, but whatever ig.
Added a banner (that i drew myself!) and fixed alignment issues (a lower textblock was misaligned. turns out it just wasnt included in the container tags oops)
sized the boxes up and added go back button.
Started working on potabos page. Its going ok, he even sent me the measurements he wanted (very nice of him) but I think it turned out too tiny for all the text he wanted.
Made trullas profile page
Fixed the issue with the pngs not showing up (and the music this time too) . It should work now. maybe
added more gifs, and styled them to look okay-ish?
Done with snowys profile! took me a while to center everything, also was a lot of trial and error to make the new picture exactly as long as the already existing part, but tada! and shes happy with it too so yay that.
Made part of snowys page, she send me a sketch of the layout she wanted and i tried to adapt it as close as possible.
Added my own profile page and started making snowys as well
Added Guestbook!
Added textboxes with info and changed the colors to the colorscheme of our itch page so that it matches.
Spend a solid 20 minutes trying to make the banner look ok, and its just a placeholder :') what will the rest of this project be like??
Founded a indie videogame studio with friends, am now making and managing our website (for free)
so much css. I made a lot of pages look better. I also added my email, another block to index, my pngtuber, and fixed even more issues because it constantly refuses to show the pngs.
Added Kate page! (You can access it with the oc page)
Added a little more infos to my profile and fixed some issues that came up after organising my files in folders
Added a blinkie collection and MORE OCs
Added more OC's+ tried to embed my tumblr, but I gave up on that.
Started making an OC-library. Looked like the windows logo first, but now the profiles are next to each other. took me way too long to get right.
Added a little page of things I like in the Tokyo night color scheme!
Added buttons to connect pages and added the art portfolio I had worked on as an earlier, already shipped project. Also embedded my last.fm feed on the blog page.
Made this wonderful blogpage with my status cafe status embedded! I used the nord colorscheme for this one. Have I mentioned how great colorschemes like that are?
Added Links to my socials and changed colors. Also made the boxes look kinda like patches?
I added the music, and made the entity screen prettier. Also deactivated music autoplay, because some people dont like music blasting in their ear when theire browsing the internet. So much work for an easteregg nobodys gonna see.
I created the landing page, and also the entity which is a beeing I summoned on my site with javascript. It displays new Dialogue depending on what you have seen already, currently ending with an invitation to stay. I used (probably) too many if statements in if statements for this. It will also play ambience music, which I tried to implement, but I failed.
my new personal website. it looks like trash on mobile, so try to look at it on a laptop or pc, or at least enable the desktop view. also it uses javascript to work, youll get stuck on index if you have that disabled. WARNING: Very bright colors!
I added more art, changed some width measurements to fit the square art better, fixed the distance between the pictures and the buttons and added more CSS to make it look better. Also experimented with borders, but decided I like the way it looks right now.
Added Javascript file to make the buttons functional, more CSS and changed the colors to a mixture between the colorscemes catpuccin latte and catpuccin mocha because I like the way it looks and the colors fit together a lot better now+ they arent as painfully bright anymore. (the attached picture shows images of the category other stuff active, the other categories with different background colors cant be viewed since the button to show them wasnt pressed)
Added some CSS to make it prettier and one image per category to show what it might look like later
I set up the index file (Set language to html and added all necessary tags+Website title) Also made some none-functional buttons which will be used to show different kinds of Artwork. I never did that before, so yes, it took me ten minutes :')
A website to put my Artwork on, and send to people that I want to show my art to. There isnt much art on it right now, its more or less a tiny puzzlepiece for the personal website I want to make at some point. Warnings: a bit of very cartoonish blood, a cartoonish skull. Also, if you have slow wifi, please just wait a bit, it takes a while until the javascript loads for some reason.
This was widely regarded as a great move by everyone.
