finally finished the icon change UI for weapons 🎂🎂🎂💯💯📯🥳🥳
There was like a whole series of bugs i needed to fix regarding the ui texture2d and i spent like a whole boat load of time experimenting with shaders and what not

Pushed the game deadline to 25th cuz i realized i need way more time
Finished the UI part of the weapon system

Started the perk system and weapon effects system (fire and stuff like that)

Been sorta busy with the game so i couldn't upload regular devlogs😁😫
I am gonna definitely start missing lectures to do this.

Devlog 11.
I am done with the Inventory system !!!!🚨🚨🚨😎-----------------
While it might not seem like much it is actually a huge achievement .... 4 me ofc
What I did was that I created a class called weapondata with all my main weapon methods, created 2 classes that inherited from weapondata for melee ad projectile methods and added a way to interact and pickup weapons.

With this adding weapons to the game is as easy as getting the animation, adding it to the player tree and creating a resource of type melee or projectile to contain the data😁

It took so long due to bug squashing and me trying out different methods like one class for all weapons until I eventually settled on this.
Next I want to create a basic HUD then I will head on to player and level design.
Still committed to the deadline of latest the 20th for this

Main task:
Creating a Weapon Manager system to handle weapons

Tweaked and finished the player state machine---
Started creating the weapon system for the game ... (this is taking 4eva btw)---

Created a loading screen for the game between levels ---
Created a better player state machine to handle player states ---
Modified the game pixels so it looks crisp on any monitor (integer scaling ... technically fractional but no one needs to know 😉) ---
Fixed some tiny bugs and issues with the player (ᇂ_ᇂ|||)---

Well ... not much to say ... just that i run through like 50 different ways that i could redo this game ... i'm also like halfway to maybe a level prototype and that is really exciting 😁

Extra* :
What lore will the game have currently idk. the base idea was a soldier that was killed that must fight through afterlife worlds to get back to life ... hence afterlight - the light after death ... but it could change ... maybe (⸝⸝╸-╺⸝⸝).

Anyway here's even more code to make you even more confused about what i am making😎😎🫳🎤.
I think maybe every 3 days ill release a gameplay video just to showcase actual progress so like tmr or today . See ya ! ✧˖°. ⋆。˚(✿ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)。・:*˚:✧。

Day 7----Yah boi is back 😁------

Added the ability to pause continue and so on..---
Added level transition for the player and thus a second level -------------

Created a collectible manager script to ... well... handle collectibles ---

Real dev talk:
I'm starting to get like the proper form of my game --- i want it to be based on deadcells and the system i have come to is 2 weapons mapped to the left and right click and 2 abilities that are part of a class. ----
The plan is 2 class's , 20 ish weapons and a full biome done by maybe 200 hours or so ----

and rotoscoping is looking very interesting🌟🌟✨

Day 3 (❍ᴥ❍ʋ)
Created a state machine for enemies to handle idle state and attack states easier
Created a new enemy called dino (cute isn't it) that attacks player when in range
Redesigned the level again cause i wasn't satisfied (will i ever (¬、¬) )
and debugged code for an hour ( which i will probably still have to fix later 😒)

Implemented and fine-tuned jumping and attempted ( and failed ) to add buffer jumping
Made a simple level that just kinda works
Added a limit to the camera

Just scraped the project and rebuilding from scratch

This is devlog day 1 XD!!!

The game is to turn a tutorial game made for entry level devs into Godot into a polished roguelike

Come along with me ( not from adventure time ) as i turn the game below into
something i don't know yet.
