Things I did:
hour 1 - 2 = Setting up project: Making player render
hour 2 - 4 = making player movement, tweaking it
hour 4 - 6 = making enemy render, making enemy movement
hour 6 - 7 = tweaking enemy movement, making it harder to shoot the enemy

To do:
add cool lighting effects to make project look good
add more enemy types
wave structure
game loop
shop and upgrades
main menu
player health
knockback affecting enemies
collision detection
