Devlog-9 09-18-2025
Did a massive code review session after getting feedback that the game was finishing in under 5 minutes. Fixed energy system with proper thresholds, added color coding to menus, battle prerequisites now require 2 completed quests, added progress messaging and reputation highlighting, verified all systems work together with consistent costs, and weather effects actually do something now. Basically turned it from a speedrun mess into something with proper pacing that forces players to engage with quests and manage energy instead of buying their way to victory immediately. Still planning more features but it's actually playable and balanced now. GitHub push is done, PiPx upload remaining. Have fun trying not to get killed by ze Germans! -^

Did some bugfixing for the previous features, and updated the version for Pipx, that's it for the weekend and the final ship for ship-5....Have fun -^
Finally properly the multi-day system with proper progression and sleeping but don't take to much time because you have only 7 day before ZE GARMANZ ARRIVAL!!
Just added a nickname system/achievement system, you can earn them by completing certain quests and/or a certain number of quests, like this one called The Busy Bee is attained by completing 5 quests.

Did some troubleshooting and added some minor features, and this is the Final Devlog*, Finally finished the game after weeks...was fun, a learning experience and a bit difficult but in the end iit turned out decent....Have fun ;]

Properly implemented 5 more slots for saving/loading game progress, made the story narrative and story more fun, enticing and exciting including giving a bit of backstory/depth to the villagers , and I am trying to make the adventures multi-day and now it also has side quests!....It was an exhausting Friday evening but still worth it :b

Added a literal 'game-saving' mechanic.... but only with one slot, troubleshot the code, fixed the story timeline, and split the game files into utils , game data and main py file. Also added ASCII(s) and ANSI(s) to the game.... A fun Tuesday :)
First version ready with gold earning spending mechanic, battle mechanic ,shop system and elegant code.
This is my game that I submitted for Terminal-craft(A YSWS program for Summer of Making). Its a simple python game about a guy trying to save his European village from a German tribe. It is still in the starting phase I'm planning to add some new features in the upcoming version. The idea was inspired by simple game that I made a few months back while learning python . Its a CLI game that kind of relates to Germans so I put the name terminal spiel because ' spiel' means game in German and.. It kind of sounds cool. Its a 'package' of pipx so you can install it and run it, for further info check out the demo.
This was widely regarded as a great move by everyone.
